Dental FAQ
For most people, going to the dentist is not something that they look forward to. For some, though, it is more than that, and it can become a debilitating fear. For others still, it is not an issue whatsoever. No matter your level of distaste for the dentist, Van Alstine Family Dentistry is here to help you feel as comfortable as possible. We want you to know what to expect when you walk in through our doors. Your comfort is our number one priority, so find out more about your upcoming visit today. A general list of FAQs’ is as follows, but if you have more specific questions, feel free to call.
What Happens In My First Appointment?
Your first appointment here is pretty straightforward. It is more about gathering as much information about your mouth as we can before we work on a treatment plan. With an exam, consultation, and x-rays, we will find any potential issues with your mouth and teeth and start working alongside you to find your ultimate oral health goals. Then we can start developing a treatment plan. We will also take a comprehensive medical history, so we know if you are genetically predisposed to certain conditions. You will also have a chance to ask any questions you may have.
Is There A Cleaning In The First Visit?
The specific type of cleaning you need can vary depending on different factors, so we will be able to discuss which is best for you at your consultation and examination. Once the exam is complete and we can find your best option, we will set up your first appointment for treatment, which can be as soon as the next day!
What Is A Comprehensive Treatment Plan?
When you come in for your first visit, we will be able to start developing a plan for treatment that revolves around “comprehensive care.” This ultimately means that we are going to examine your entire mouth to determine a long-term plan that will work to not only solve your current problem but help prevent further problems later on.
What Does It Cost?
Pricing for different dental procedures and treatments differ from state to state and office to office, so once we have developed more of a comprehensive treatment plan, we will be able to give you a detailed list of pricings. Your procedure’s cost also changes based on your insurance so that we can give that to you on an individual basis.
Do You Treat Children?
Yes, we are more than happy to cater to your children. We can take exemplary care of your entire family.
Van Alstine Family Dentistry wants you looking and feeling as well as you can. Any procedure that we offer can come with a variety of questions, so we want you to know that we are more than happy to answer any and all of them. If you find yourself feeling unsure or wondering if our office is the right one for you, give us a call today. We can talk you through the process and address your concerns.
